Welcome to the AI in Education podcast

With Dan Bowen, Beth Worrall, and Lee Hickin from Microsoft Australia

It's a fortnightly chat about Artificial Intelligence in Education - what it is, how it works, and the different ways it is being used. It's not too serious, or too technical, and is intended to be a good conversation of background information.

Of course, as well as getting it here on the website, you can also just subscribe to your normal podcast service:

About

Lee Hickin, Beth Worrall, and Dan Bowen work in the Microsoft Australia team, and they talk about Artificial Intelligence in Education - what it is, how it works, and the different ways it is being used. It's not too serious, or too technical, and is intended to be a good conversation of background information. We're planning to have a chat each week about the story of AI in education, and are definitely not going to be describing the official Microsoft position on anything.

With “the robots are coming to steal our (students’) jobs!” being a hot topic of many education conferences (and, at many business conferences too), Dan, Beth and Lee have their feet on the ground and spend their time talking about what’s really happening, and what the technical language means in plain English. As we run further into the podcast series, Lee and Dan will talk about scenarios that are more specific to their areas of expertise. And along the way they will also interview specialists in other areas – personalising learning, accessibility – and how artificial intelligence is intersecting with them and bringing innovation.
